Devin Britton of Brandon is on center stage at the pond at the Wimbledon Junior Championship…and he is winning BIG.
Devin began competing at a young age here in Mississippi, home schooled he focused on becoming a better competitor on the court and enrolled at Ole Miss at 17. Ever since he has dominated the competition. After winning the NCAA Championship Devin traveled to London to compete on the biggest stage of all, Wimbledon. He has already clinched the singles title and the doubles with teammate Jordon Cox. He is now in the quarterfinals looking to go-all-the-way!
Momentum is on his side after winning 8 matches in a row! I sure hope this kid from Mississippi stuns the world and shows everyone that he’s got talent.
Now a little side note: what is up with the women screaming in pain as they hit the ball over the net???? It’s become the thing to do. I mean seriously it’s like they’re having labor pains every time they hit a serve! Some say they scream to drown out the ball hitting the court and throwing off their opponent. But I say it’s a rather undelightful. This act of deception is in fact illegal, but the judges are keeping mum and I don’t blame them! Can you imagine the screaming match they would get in!
