Congrats to Ole Miss and Southern Miss for making it to the NCAA Super Regionals!
This is big time for both schools who were in my mind, sleeper teams. It will be interesting to see how far Southern will ride this winning wave and if Ole Miss can continue winning like they mean it.
I love this time of the year with college baseball at a time when games really matter. Already records have been made in the NCAA tourney. Texas and Boston College set the longest NCAA game with 25 innings! (not exactly a record I would want to be a part of…just think how many sunflower seeds were eaten during that production!)
Then Florida State breaks four…count ‘em Four NCAA records with their embarrassing beat down over Ohio State 37-6. They broke NCAA records for runs in a tournament game, doubles in any game (15), total bases in a tournament game (66) and hits in a tournament game (38).
Holy Cow…should be interesting to see what else will happen in this 2009 tourney season!
