My Bad

Sorry I’ve been on a rain delay, but it’s over now. Congrats to the Phillies, the new World Series Champions.

So where do I begin? Ah yes, the Big 12 vs. the SEC. This battle is one that has been contested season after season. Typically the National Championship game comes and it’s always a Big 12 team beating and SEC team (or sometimes one SEC killing another SEC team…boring).  The Pac 10 has their lonely champ, USC and the Big 10? Not even sure where to go with that one.

The Big 12 is representing this year.  Now, I’m not being biased just because I went to Mizzou (yes, the team that got blown out of the water against Texas), but teams in the Big 12 are just better than the teams in the SEC this year.  Almost all of the Heisman candidates will come from the Big 12 with maybe the exception of Tim Tebow…again.  The Big 12 is definitely getting more air time, having multiple “College Game Days” in a row, not to mention 5 teams in the top 25 (OK that could be better), but the one thing they dominate the divisions in is Rivalry.  Every week there’s a rivalry game and plain better football to watch.

Stay Tuned.

yeah Mizzou and that sorry North Division of the Big 12 is overrated. That Big 12 South is a tough division, but the SEC as a whole plays better quality football. UGA, Florida, Bama, and even LSU would shut down the pass and beat those South Division teams. Mizzou had a weak schedule and could not get it done against Oklahoma State. They looked like a high school team against Texas.

  2. I know this is old but hey- good predictions. The SEC might take it in the championship this year; Oklahoma has been strong all year but Tebow and his team are on fire! Sometimes it feels like every division in FBS besides the SEC and Big 12 is comparable to NFL’s NFC West- Sure they send teams into the playoffs but that’s only because they have to.

We’re actually looking for the female perspective on college sports at http://www.collegefanz.com, the largest site of its kind on the net. I think your blog would do very well there; you’re knowledgeable and articulate clearly, and our site has a mature level of discussion.

Our blogs are free and easy, and also they come with a built in readership: our large user base. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship in my opinion.

Take a look at the site and feel free to let me know what you think at mgleeson@collegefanz.com. I hope to hear from you soon (also congrats on Missouri’s Alamo Bowl victory!).
